Alice Brockway
PhD Researcher
Alice is a professional actor and creative based in Manchester, UK. She trained at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and has performed and created work for over 20 years. She is an experienced teacher and facilitator and is currently enjoying working with the undergraduates on the Drama and Contemporary Performance course at Manchester School of Theatre.
As an academic Alice first read English at the University of Lincoln before attending Mountview for her masters degree. She studied Psychology with the Open University before starting her current PhD. She has published on several topics, and has presented at conferences as well as giving other talks and interviews.
John Deeney

John is a Principal Lecturer of Drama and Contemporary Performance at Manchester School of Theatre. His research interests include Contemporary Drama, Directing Practice (Drama/Theatre), Dramaturgy/playwriting, and Theatre, Theory, Politics.
Dr Lucy Webb

Lucy is a Reader in the School of Nursing at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research focuses on substance use, mental and psychosocial health, global mental health, and co-production/participatory methodologies.
Dr Josh Edelman

Josh is a Reader in Drama and Contemporary Performance and Lead of Manchester School of Theatre. His primary areas of research are, first, the relationships between performance, ritual, and religion in the modern West, and second, the overlaps between politics, policy, and theatremaking in contemporary Europe.
Dr Sarah Parry
Former supervisor
Sarah is a practicing Clinical Psychologist and a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at Lancaster University. Research interests include unusual and distressing sensory experiences (e.g. hearing voices) during childhood and adolescence, workplace wellbeing in health and social care, and trauma-informed care within children’s homes for care experienced young people.
